Two women were killed Wednesday after a crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Portage la Prairie.
A vehicle collided with a semi-trailer truck hauling hogs at around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 1 and Provincial Trunk Highway 305.
RCMP say a car was travelling east on Highway 1 when it collided with the semi travelling north on 305 about to proceed on Highway 1.
A 21-year-old Erickson woman and her 20-year-old female passenger from Winnipeg were killed in the crash.
The 25-year-old South Norfolk man driving the semi wasn’t injured.
Police are continuing to investigate what caused the crash, but charges aren’t expected.
