Rain or shine, the annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic will be a go this weekend. The bad news? There’s a chance of rain.
The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba is putting on the 27th edition of the picnic this Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Assiniboine Park.
The free event includes 50 fun-filled tents, live entertainment, a pancake breakfast and barbecue. The always popular Dr. Goodbear Clinic will mend stuffed animals as volunteer nurses, doctors and medical professionals from the Children’s Hospital fix up injured teddy bears.
The Teddy Bears’ Picnic was created 27 years ago as a way to educate kids on health and safety while showing them that the Children’s Hospital is not a scary place to visit.
All the funds raised from the event support the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
