Immigrants from around the world will become Canadian citizens today during a citizenship ceremony at the Manitoba Museum.
At 1 p.m., the ceremony will begin as newcomers take the final step in becoming Canadian. As part of the special day, the museum is hosting specialized programming to link past and present immigrants and their stories beginning at 10:45 a.m.
New citizens also receive the new federally-backed Cultural Access Pass, which provides them with one-year of complimentary admission to more than 1,000 of Canada’s cultural institutions, including the Manitoba Museum.
Museum tours will follow the ceremony at 2:15 p.m.
