RCMP Investigate Homicide on Wasagamack First Nation

RCMP Crest LogoA 19-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning on Wasagamack First Nation after being run over by a vehicle.

Police located the man’s body on the main road in the community just before 4 a.m. and quickly tracked down a suspect.

Trevor Ronnie Knott, 18, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the incident. Police say both men were known to each other and were socializing earlier.

Knott remains in custody and will make a court appearance in Winnipeg on Friday. An autopsy has been scheduled on the victim.

UPDATE: Friday, May 31 — The deceased has been identified as Leevan Johnson Harper of Wasagamack First Nation.
