A fundraiser for Osborne House on Saturday will highlight the city’s most “stand up” men.
The first ever Stand Up Super Games will see notable men compete in a number of challenges. Participants include musicians, dancers, elected
officials, and athletes, who have lent their time for a fun and worthwhile cause.
The games are being hosted by a group of University of Winnipeg marketing students who are standing up against violence toward women.
“Our class wanted to come at the fundraising campaign from a different angle than a lot of them, we want to focus on men who are stand up men and want to make sure the women and children in their lives are safe,” said organizer Allison Parker.
The games will be held at Kildonan Park (picnic shelter 3A and 3B) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
A taco bar by Casa Burrito will feed attendees for $4 each and donate 50% of their profits to the women’s shelter.
