A record number of Winnipeggers will lace up Sunday and join inner-city kids in the third annual 5ish Fun Run.
Runners will take off from Mulvey School (750 Wolseley Avenue) and hit the pavement in support of West Broadway Youth Outreach (WBYO).
The 5ish Fun Run is WBYO’s largest fundraiser, raising money to support after-school and summer recreational programs.
The event kicks off with a group warm-up at 9:30 a.m. at Mulvey School. The run begins at 10 a.m. and spans just over five kilometres, following the classic Wolseley/Wellington loop.
Organizers anticipate raising more than $20,000 this year.
