Truck Driver Dies After Dropping Off Washed Out Road

RCMP Crest LogoA 46-year-old man from Gilbert Plains was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon after driving off a washed out road.

The man was driving on Road 150 West, about half a kilometre south of Highway 5 in the RM of Hillsburg.

RCMP say the man was driving a grain truck travelling southbound when it ran into a washed out section of road, dropping about 15 to 20 feet.

According to police, warning signs in the area may have been moved or displaced.

The man’s name isn’t being released and police continue to investigate.
