Winnipeg Police Investigating Two Stabbings Overnight

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police say they are looking into two separate stabbings that happened overnight.

The first saw police cruisers and Air1 swarm a house on Victor Street just after 10 p.m. There, emergency workers found a 36-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to the upper body. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but has been upgraded to stable.

Police are looking for a lone male who ran away from the area.

About 90 minutes later, police went to a home in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue after two men who knew each other got into a fight. Police said a man, 23, showed up at the home drunk and armed with a knife. A 25-year-old man managed to disarm him, then stabbed the 23-year-old, said police.

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital in critical condition then upgraded to stable. The 25-year-old was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon. He was detained.
