Two snowy owls and a red fox are on their way to the Assiniboine Park Zoo.

The three animals will be arriving shortly from the Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society to take up residence in their new, permanent home in Winnipeg.

The animals will undergo the standard quarantine process once arriving at the zoo and won’t be available for public viewing until a later date. Once the quarantine period is complete, the snowy owls will be added to the current exhibit while a suitable enclosure for the red fox is still being determined.

The zoo currently houses six snowy owls that will be moved into the Journey to Churchill exhibit once it’s completed in summer 2014.

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is open daily 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
