Winnipeg police have busted a grow-op they say was worth half a million dollars.
Police said they raided a home in the 700 block of McLeod Avenue at about 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4. There, they found 459 pot plants with a street value of about $514,000, and $17,000 worth of grow-op equipment.
A man in the home fled when police arrived, but was arrested in the home’s backyard.
The man, 46, faces charges of production of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and theft of telecommunications. He was released on a promise to appear.
