RCMP Crest LogoRussell RCMP have a man in custody after an ATV rollover in rural Manitoba.

RCMP said they responded to a report of a single ATV rollover on Provincial Road 549 near Russell, Manitoba at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Several bystanders were able to roll the ATV off of the driver, who was pinned beneath it. However, once he was free, the man tried to drive away, said police, prompting bystanders to take away his keys.

Police arrested the driver after it was found he had been drinking, with a blood-alcohol limit four times over the legal limit.

Karson James Riddell, 21, of Regina has been remanded in custody on charges of impaired driving, drive over .08, drive while disqualified, breach probation, and an additional a charge under the Highway Traffic Act, said police.
