RCMP Crest LogoAn Irish man has died after a car crash in rural Manitoba Thursday.

Headingley RCMP said they were called to the collision at about 11:30 a.m. on June 6 on Provincial Road 424, near the community of Springstein.

There, emergency workers found a pick up truck on its side and the driver ejected from the truck. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he later died at about 3 p.m.

Police have identified the man as a 28-year-old man from County Cork, Ireland. His name will not be released.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Police said alcohol was not a factor, but they’re still unsure why the driver lost control of his vehicle. The investigation continues.
