As the 2013 Special Olympics Manitoba Provincial Summer Games approach later this month, the Flame of Hope will be lit on Monday on the steps of the Manitoba legislature.
The Manitoba Law Enforcement Torch Run will be igniting the flame, in advance of more than 500 Special Olympics Manitoba athletes who will be competing in seven different sports at venues throughout Winnipeg June 21-23. The games will be used to select athletes to be part of the provincial team competing at the 2014 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Vancouver, BC.
The lighting ceremony will run from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
