A full week of tourism-related activities kick off today, hosted by Tourism Winnipeg. The Canada-wide initiative highlights the impact of travel and tourism in the country.
Tourism Winnipeg will attend the Tourism Industry Association of Canada’s (TIAC) Town Hall at the Holiday Inn Winnipeg South this morning before launching their new blog, OnlyInThePeg.com.
On Thursday, the organization will launch the “Capture Your Winnipeg 2013 Photo Contest,” where unique photos capturing people enjoying Winnipeg experiences, attractions and festivals will be submitted through summer until September. Photos will be used in future Tourism Winnipeg marketing material and the photographer with the best photo wins a grand prize.
On Friday, Mayor Sam Katz will announce a major enhancement for Winnipeg called The Loop — the city’s first 9.5 kilometre signature walking tour that spans old St. Boniface’s sites and downtown Winnipeg’s diverse districts and landmarks.
