Winnipeg Blue Bombers LogoTickets for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ home opener on June 27 are quickly selling out.

The club announced Monday that about 2,000 tickets remain and 31,500 have already been scooped up by fans for Investors Group Field.

“With just over two weeks until opening day, anyone wanting to experience this historic event should scoop up a ticket while they can,” said Blue Bombers president and CEO Garth Buchko. “With a stellar made-in-Manitoba opening ceremony starting to take shape and just 2,000 tickets left, this is definitely the week to buy.”

Former Blue Bomber Chris Walby will co-host the opening ceremony, along with actress, singer and dancer Laura Lussier. The national anthem will be sung by Manitoba opera singer Phillip Ens, while Juno award winner Tom Cochrane will handle half-time duties.

The opening ceremonies begin at 7:15 p.m. with kickoff following at 8 p.m. against the Montreal Alouettes.
