Canadian Women’s National Team player Desiree Scott has been named a Team KidSport Athlete Ambassador for KidSport Winnipeg.

Scott currently plays for FC Kansas City in the National Women’s Soccer League and is a former University of Manitoba Bison. She also won bronze as part of the team that competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

“Sports have been a huge part of my life and I am thankful that I now have the opportunity to help KidSport get more kids playing the sports they love,” Scott said. “Without KidSport’s assistance I truly believe I’d have missed out on many of my life’s experiences, especially the Olympic Games.”

KidSport Winnipeg and Scott plan to hold a soccer camp for girls in October 2013.
