The Exchange District will see the addition of 70 Recycle Everywhere bins placed on the streets as part of a new partnership with the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association (CBCRA).
The bins will be placed next to each existing waste receptacle, allowing people in the area to have an easy option to recycle their empty beverage containers rather than throwing them in the garbage.
“We are thrilled to be able to provide a much needed recycling program; working towards creating a green and beautiful neighbourhood,” said Brian Timmerman, executive director of the Exchange District BIZ.
Similar bins are already visible in many other parts of the city and help divert recyclables from ending up in the landfill.
