A group of 350 soldiers from CFB Shilo will begin departing for Afghanistan on Monday morning.
The soldiers from several military units based at Shilo just east of Brandon will be deploying over the next few weeks as part of this final rotation of Canadian soldiers serving with Operation Attention. The Canadian Forces mission is based in Kabul and focuses on training and mentoring the Afghan National Army.
In May, families of the soldiers collectively said their goodbyes during an event on the base.
