City of WinnipegAn open house on Wednesday will discuss plans for the Plessis Road Underpass project as construction nears closer.

The $77 million project will include an underpass of the Canadian National Rail line to be located north of the Plessis Road and Dugald Road intersection.

An open house in February attracted 300 people to provide feedback and see plans for the project.

“The public response and support for this crucial underpass project has been tremendous and the community is excited about the coming construction,” said Transcona Councillor Russ Wyatt.

Plessis Road will be closed between Dugald Road and the rail crossing from late July 2013 until the end of 2014. Construction is expected to commence begin in late June and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014.

The open house will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Canad Inns Transcona, 826 Regent Avenue West.
