Man Dies After Vehicle Submerged on Manitoba First Nation

RCMP Crest LogoA 29-year-old man from Waywayseecappo First Nation has died and another man is facing charges following a crash on Sunday.

Manitoba RCMP say a 1991 Dodge Daytona carrying three men was driving along Brandon Road in the community when it went off the roadway and landed in a body of water.

A 19-year-old man and 18-year-old man were able to escape with minor injuries. A 29-year-old man was pulled from the water, but died in hospital. All three men are from Waywayseecappo First Nation.

The 19-year-old driver is facing charges of drunk driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death.

He will appear in court on August 7.
