Manitoba musicians and companies have landed 31 nominations at the Western Canadian Music Awards.
The nominations are across 20 categories for the 11th annual celebration of music from the western provinces and territories.
Manitoba’s Aboriginal has picked up three out of five nods for aboriginal recording of the year for the second year in a row. All three nominees are also recent Juno Award nominees, including Burnt-Project 1, multi-award-winning singer/songwriter Don Amero, and country songstress Tracy Bone.
Also nominated are JP Hoe, Oh My Darling, Del Barber, The Lytics and several more.
The awards will be handed out at an industry brunch on October 5, and at a gala event on October 6 in Calgary. To see a full list of nominees, visit BreakOutWest.ca.
