Pet owners and their furry companions will gather at Assiniboine Park on Sunday for the Winnipeg Humane Society’s Paws in Motion.
About 1,000 dogs are expected to walk in the annual event, which fundraises for the WHS’ spay and neuter program.
The walk begins at 10:30 a.m., with activities and other events planned from 8 a.m. to noon.
Besides the walk, a dog agility demonstration is planned, as well as activities for kids, live music, and a visit from the Winnipeg police K9 unit.
The Humane Society’s goal is to spay/neuter 6,000 animals each year.
Donations to sponsor a walker can be made online.
