The “supermoon” rises early Sunday as seen from Winnipeg, gracing the skies to appear closer to Earth than usual. The moon appeared 14 percent larger than normal, and came within 357,000 kilometres of Earth. The annual event brings out sky-watchers of all backgrounds to gaze at the celestial wonder. The next time the supermoon will be most visible is August 2014. (STAN MILOSEVIC / CHRISD.CA)
