A new farmers’ market to service the city’s downtown area will launch on July 4.
The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ has procured 45 vendors to provide a plethora of local produce and crafts at Manitoba Hydro Plaza near Edmonton Street and Graham Avenue.
Performers from Folklorama, Manito Ahbee, and Studio 393 will entertain guests with music, a friendship dance, and breakdancing.
“This downtown farmers market is yet another reason for our BIZ members and their employees and customers, as well as local residents, to enjoy summer downtown,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.
“When we purchase local, we are also promoting a sense of place and pride for Winnipeg. It makes us feel better connected to our community.”
The market will operate Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until September 5.
