On a day where it felt like 38°C outside with the humidity, a new splash pad was opened at Charleswood’s Westdale Community Centre.

The splash pad includes eight in-ground spray features, six above-ground spray features, new fencing, site furnishings, trees and landscaping. The $500,000 project at 550 Dale Boulevard was cost-shared by the city and province.

“Splash pads are quickly becoming favourite summer destinations for kids and parents across the city,” said Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz.

“We are pleased to be able to provide Charleswood families with a safe, accessible place to play and cool off. This splash pad will be a wonderful addition to the Westdale Community Centre and will serve this community for years to come.”

Water for the splash pad will be recirculated from the adjacent outdoor pool.
