Organizers of an upcoming art exhibit are calling for submissions.
The Art Therapy Exhibit in October will feature the works of Manitoba artists in support of mental health.
Art therapy is “art in therapy” or “the act of making art” to share a personal story through creative self expression. Collective stories will be shared to create awareness of mental health issues and to raise funds for Artbeat Studio and the new Mental Health Crisis Response Centre.
All artists, musicians, writers and performers can submit their work samples by July 5 to wpgarttherapy@gmail.com. Submissions can include illustration, sculptures, photography/design/digital, video, music, short performances, and short stories/poetry.
In addition to the exhibit, there will be a silent auction, art sale, poetry slam, live painting, performances, kiosks and speakers to provide information on
mental health.
More information can be found on the Art Therapy Exhibit Facebook page.
