Wednesday morning’s intense thunderstorm was fatal for a camper in Falcon Beach Campground.
A large tree fell on a tent during a period of heavy rain and wind, killing a 45-year-old Quebec man.
RCMP say two people were in the tent at the time, including a 44-year-old woman, also from Quebec. Both were taken to hospital where the man was pronounced deceased. The woman suffered only minor injuries.
Police say the incident happened just before 2 a.m. and a number of trees were reported to have blown down.
The man’s name isn’t being released.
