Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet is preparing to present its annual performances at Assiniboine Park during a three-day run this summer.
Ballet in the Park returns for another year July 24-26 to showcase a talented array of RWB dancers and dance styles.
The best part? It’s all free.
“It is a wonderful way to gather as a community to enjoy dance, celebrate summer and relax at the picturesque Lyric Theatre. We are excited to help share the internationally acclaimed talent of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet with an enthralled local audience,” said Larry Wandowich of Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries, the presenting sponsor for the event.
The performances have a reputation of drawing big crowds — upwards of 20,000 people annually. This summer’s diverse program includes pieces from all three branches of the organization. The RWB School Professional Division will perform excerpts from Les Corsaires, a classical work that highlights the impressive talent, exceptional artistry and strong technique that is evident in RWB’s future generation.
Performances will begin nightly at 7:30 p.m.
