Gillam App

The town of Gillam, Manitoba is the latest community to launch their own smartphone app to keep residents informed with information on the forest fires.

With many people now evacuating the community, the municipal office has a means to provide them with the latest information directly on their smartphones.

“Municipal administrators need to accept technology and develop the tools to communicate with their residents. There is no excuse for not being able to communicate with people at anytime from anywhere,” said town chief administrative officer Jackie Clayton.

The free app is available for iPhone (iTunes) and Android devices (Google Play).
