The City of Winnipeg is finally ready to fog for nuisance mosquitoes.
The city gave the 24-hour notice this morning to begin fogging on Sunday night. The latest city-wide trap count numbers were 138.
To fog, the Adulticiding Factor Analysis (AFA) must be high, a minimum trap count average of 25 female mosquitoes must be met for two consecutive nights, and one or more quadrants of the city are in the range of 100 female adult mosquitoes.
Fogging will be carried out between 9:30 p.m. on Sunday and 6:30 a.m. on Monday. Fogging cannot occur in temperatures below 13°C and/or heavy winds.
Residents who want to request a 90-metre buffer zone can contact 311 or visit 1539 Waverley Street.
