Manitoba animal welfare officials and Hull’s Haven Border Collie Rescue has rescued 27 border collies and border collie mixes.
The animals were seized over the weekend by the provincial vet’s office from a suspected hoarder. The dogs are generally in good condition, with some requiring medical and dental care.
Foster families have taken in the animals, while two dogs have already been flown out to B.C. Seven dogs will be flown to Calgary today with the help of Pilots N Paws Canada at no charge.
“These dogs will all need wonderful, understanding homes when they are ready to be adopted,” Hull’s Haven said in an e-mail. “As well all these groups need foster families, and donations of course, to do what they do.”
