Manitoba LogoThe province will begin upgrades to a stretch of highway in southwestern Manitoba later this month.

A 9.1 kilometre section of PR 340 from south of CFB Shilo to PR 453 will be paved, weather permitting.

“This paving project is the last phase along PR 340 and will provide a continuous paved surface. The project will help improve traffic flow and safety for motorists and commercial vehicles in the RMs of Cornwallis, South Cypress and Oakland,” Infrastructure and Transportation Minister Steve Ashton said on Tuesday.

Traffic will be accommodated during construction, but no detour will be in place. Motorists are advised to expect delays and to follow the directions of flag people.
