Inner-city youth will be engaged and kept active today and Thursday during North West Kids Fest.
The second annual event will include 200 kids aged five to 15 from United Way’s Youth Agencies Alliance, who will gather at Shaw Park for two days of fun summer games, creative crafts and lively activities.
Youth will participate in soccer baseball around the Goldeyes field, earth ball and water games. In addition to the games, several craft stations will be set up including a balloon animal workshop and face painting.
Nineteen youth-serving agencies will take part, including NEEDS, Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg, West Central Community Program, Spence Neighbourhood Association, CSI, IRCOM and Teen Stop Jeunesse, along with a group of volunteers from United Way of Winnipeg and the North West Company.
