Republic Nightclub in Winnipeg’s Exchange District has put up the ‘for sale’ sign after operating since 2009.
“The club has done a lot for the nightlife and entertainment in Winnipeg. We want to go out with a bang, giving the club the credit it deserves,” said Jack Mehrdad Moslehi, the club’s owner.
Moslehi said he’s looking for buyers for the piece of real estate, which sits at the corner of Bannatyne and Princess Street, half a block away from King Street and Old Market Square.
Owners of the 12,000 square-foot, 450-seat club will be moving on to other entertainment ventures in Winnipeg, Moslehi said.
Republic Nightclub has attracted some big names since opening, including DJ Steve Aoki, six-time Grammy winner Skrillex, DJ Pauly D, Canadian rapper Drake, and Motley Crue rocker Tommy Lee.
Republic Nightclub will close in September.
