Foodies who want to walk off the abundance of delicious food they’ll savour this weekend will be in for a seven and a half kilometre trek through Winnipeg.
Prairie Pathfinders is launching an urban food walking tour on Saturday, July 20 at The Forks. Combining their love for good food and hiking, the group will make stops in Point Douglas, Chinatown, the Exchange District, downtown, and end up back at The Forks.
Hikers will visit Neechi’s, Mondragon, the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre and Tall Grass Prairie Bakery over the span of three hours.
“We’re so excited to offer this new food tour as part of Prairie Pathfinders,” said Wendy Wilson, spokesperson for the organization. “It offers hikers an opportunity to explore parts of the city they may not have otherwise visited and eat some delicious food along the way.”
The inaugural tour is unfortunately sold out, but will reoccur on August 24 and three more undetermined dates in September. The cost to attend is $42.50 per person. Additional information is available on the group’s website.
