Winnipeg police are searching for a 32-year-old woman after her two children drowned in a bathtub on Wednesday morning.

Lisa Gibson is wanted for questioning by police in the incident, which began as a well-being call at 3 Coleridge Park Drive in Westwood.

Several police cruisers were on scene Wednesday at around 8 a.m., as well as two ambulances.

The children, three-month-old Nicolas and two-year-old Anna were rushed to hospital where they were declared deceased.

Police and fire crews began a search of the nearby Assiniboine River, where they believed Gibson may have gone.

Lisa Gibson, who lives in the house with her husband, Brian, isn’t being called a suspect at this point, but only a person of interest. She is described as 5’5″ with short, light blonde/red hair and a slim build.

Anyone with information on Gibson’s whereabouts is asked to call police at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477.)
