Ameba TVWinnipeg-based Ameba TV has been recognized for its digital kids online streaming service.

The website was named a 2013 National Parenting Publications Award (NAPPA) silver winner for its vast selection of quality, educational and music-themed shows.

“Parents want to make the best decisions for their families but don’t always have the time to dig through and research the seemingly endless array of children’s products on the market,” said Julie Kertes, NAPPA general manager. “Our NAPPA judges do that research for them, delivering a roundup of quality products that parents can purchase with confidence.”

Ameba was one of 60 companies to pick up silver, while 41 received honours. Twenty-five products earned the gold award.

Ameba is available online as a subscription service for $3.99 per month, providing thousands of hours of educational, preschool, musical, and multilingual programming to children ages two to 12.
