The genders and first pictures of the two snow leopard cubs born at Assiniboine Park Zoo on June 29 have been revealed to the public — and they’re super cute!

The three-week-old male cubs have completed their initial neo-natal exams and are both healthy, zoo officials say.

“Both cubs are doing exceptionally well and growing more and more each day”, said Gary Lunsford, acting director of zoological operations. “We expect that within the next few weeks they’ll start exploring on their own, at which point we’ll be able to announce a date for their public debut.”

The cubs haven’t been exposed to the public yet to give them time to bond with their mother and to receive proper veterinary care. Both the mother and her cubs will remain off-exhibit until the cubs are ready to start exploring on their own, which is expected in another 3-4 weeks.
