The province’s Chief Medical Examiner will be looking more closely into the deaths of Lisa Gibson and her two young children.
“The deaths of Lisa Gibson and her two children of Winnipeg, Manitoba, were reported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on July 24, 2013 and July 27, 2013,” reads a statement from the province. “In accordance with The Fatality Inquiries Act, a thorough investigation is being conducted regarding the circumstances under which the deaths occurred.
“Once the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has gathered and assessed all relevant information, a decision will be made regarding the course of action that needs to be taken to prevent similar future deaths. As this process will take a few months, it is expected this decision will be made in late fall.”
