Grow-Op Bust Nets Winnipeg Police $1.4M in Marijuana Plants

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police busted multiple grow-ops run by two people that netted them almost $1.4 million in pot.

Police said the Marijuana Grow Operation Unit raided three homes and one vehicle on July 30 in the morning.

At a home on Prairie Smoke Drive, police found 649 pot plants with a street value of $726,880, dried pot worth $1,500 and equipment worth $20,000.

At a home on Breton Bay, they found 577 pot plants with a street value of $646,240, dried pot worth $2,250 and more equipment, also worth about $20,000.

They then found $3,700 at a home on De La Seigneurie Boulevard.

A man, 53, and a woman, 36, face charges of production of a controlled substance, trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.
