More than 1,000 students are enrolled in Manitoba summer camps this year, to brush up on their math, reading and exploring skills.
“Summer learning camps are an excellent opportunity for students to keep learning, exploring and staying physically active during the summer,” said Education Minister Nancy Allan.
“They give children who can use a little support in math, reading and science the opportunity to benefit from a summer learning enrichment program.”
More than $1 million was spent on the programs, which are available to low-income students who would otherwise experience a gap in the learning cycle. Fifteen sites throughout the city offer the programs.
