Shopping Centres
Kildonan Place – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
St. Vital Centre — 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Polo Park – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Liquor Marts
All Winnipeg Liquor Marts will be open 10 a.m to 6 p.m. with the exception of Pembina Village Liquor Mart Express and Park West Express which will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and cityplace, which will be closed. All Manitoba Liquor Marts outside of Winnipeg will be open 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the exception of Carman and Steinbach, which will be closed.

City of Winnipeg civic offices
Closed on Monday, August 5.

Recycling/Garbage Collection
Single-family homes — recycling and garbage will be collected on the August long weekend Monday for those residents with Monday as their weekly cart collection day.

Multi-family apartments — recycling and garbage collection will continue as normally scheduled.

Brady Road Resource Management Facility (Brady Road Landfill)
Saturday, August 3 — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, August 4 — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, August 5 — 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Winnipeg Transit
On Monday, August 5, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Leisure Centres
All Leisure Centres will be closed on Monday, August 5.

Regular hours are in effect for Leisure Centres on Saturday, August 3, and Sunday, August 4.

Spray Pads
Spray pads will be open on Monday, August 5 and include the following locations:

  • Fort Rouge Park
  • Lindenwoods Community Centre
  • Provencher Park
  • River Heights Community Centre
  • St. Norbert Community Centre
  • Shaughnessy Park
  • Central Park
  • Vimy Ridge Park
  • River East
  • Transcona
  • Westdale
  • St. James Assiniboia Centennial Pool

Spray pad operating hours have been extended to 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. until further notice.

Swimming Pools
All City of Winnipeg indoor swimming pools will be closed on Monday, August 5.

All City of Winnipeg outdoor pools will be open Monday, August 5. Operating hours vary by pool.

Wading Pools
Weather permitting, the following 16 wading pools will be open on Monday, August 5:

  • Amherst Park
  • Harrow Park
  • Dakota Park
  • Bronx Park
  • JH Bruns Park
  • Central Park
  • Keenleyside Park
  • McKittrick Park
  • Norquay Community Centre
  • Shaughnessy Park
  • Pascoe Park
  • Vimy Ridge Park
  • John Steele Park
  • Pirates Park
  • Pritchard Park

All Winnipeg Public Libraries will be closed on Monday, August 5.

Animal Services Agency

Friday, August 2 to Sunday, August 4 — regular hours
Sunday, August 4 — Regular hours: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, August 5 — Closed
Tuesday, August 6 — Regular hours: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.


Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visitation from dawn till dusk over the August long weekend including Monday, August 5.

Cemetery offices will be closed on Monday, August 5.

Winnipeg Parking Authority
Hours of operation for the Winnipeg Parking Authority during the August long weekend are as follows:

Friday, August 2 — 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday, August 3 — Closed
Sunday, August 4 — Closed
Monday, August 5 — Closed
Tuesday, August 6 — 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Golf Courses
Harbour View, Crescent Drive, John Blumberg, Kildonan Park and Windsor Park Golf Courses will be open throughout the August long weekend including Monday, August 5.
