A man is dead and a woman is injured after the ATV they were driving hit a utility pole on Thursday morning.
Gympsumville RCMP said they were called to the crash around 7 a.m. on Little Saskatchewan First Nation, where they found a smashed Polaris ATV.
The man driving, a 46-year-old from Little Saskatchewan First Nation, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name will not be released, said RCMP. His riding companion, a 24-year-old woman from Fairford, was treated at the scene.
Both riders were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash. Speed and alcohol also played a role, said RCMP.
