Traffic Stop Nets Marijuana, Portage Man Charged

RCMP Crest LogoA traffic stop near Portage la Prairie turned up 28 grams of marijuana late last month.

RCMP pulled over a 2010 Ford Econoline cargo van on July 27 just before 2:30 a.m. for speeding. The driver, a 37-year-old Portage man, was found to be in possession of the drugs.

Christopher Ryan Lilley was arrested and later released on a promise to appear in Portage court on September 9.

Police continue to investigate.
