RCMP Crest LogoMorris RCMP say a 16-year-old girl from Gretna is dead after a single-car crash in Rural Manitoba.

RCMP said they were called to the scene of the crash on Monday at about 9 p.m. on Provincial Road 218, about one mile east of PR 200 near Emerson.

There, they found a car being driven by a 16-year-old boy in the ditch. A female passenger, also 16, had to be extricated  from the vehicle and taken to hospital in critical condition. She later died. Her name will not be released. The driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
