Families in Royalwood will have a new playground to play in by next summer, Premier Greg Selinger and St. Boniface councillor Dan Vandal announced Wednesday.
“Our government knows how important it is for families to have quality time together,” said Selinger.
“This new playground will give Royalwood families a fun and exciting place to play, while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Bois-des-esprits Window Park.”
The new playground will be handicapped accessible, said Selinger. About $100,000 will go towards its construction and the City will fund maintenance costs.
Construction of the playground will begin in the spring of 2014.
