The Winnipeg Art Gallery is holding over the 100 Masters: Only in Canada exhibition until Labour Day, September 2.
“This exhibition has obviously resonated with people, making it the best attended show in the WAG’s history and a fitting tribute for the WAG’s Centennial,” said Stephen Borys, WAG director and CEO. “As of yesterday, over 40,000 people have seen the show and we are anticipating final attendance of 50,000.”
Borys added that school tours sold out before the show opened on May 11, and membership has increased 269% over the same period last year.
Previously extended Gallery hours have now been expanded even further to accommodate visitors. The Gallery will also be open on Labour Day (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), the final day of the exhibition.
