Semi Collides with Train on South Perimeter

RCMP Crest LogoRCMP are asking motorists to avoid the south Perimeter Highway at Highway 330 after a semi truck hit a CP train.

The crash happened Monday morning when the semi collided with a southbound CP cargo train just west of the intersection.

The 51-year-old semi driver from Winnipeg was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. One staff member on the train received minor non-life threatening injuries and was treated on scene.

The area around the crash site is closed until further notice. Visit MB511.ca for updates on road closures.

UPDATE: 1:40 p.m. — The roadway has since reopened.
