Goldeyes End Homestand on a High Note

August 12, 2013 7:04 AM | Sports

Winnipeg Goldeyes LogoThe Winnipeg Goldeyes put a six-game homestand in the books Sunday night after going 5-1 at Shaw Park.

Saturday’s game against the Sioux Falls Canaries was shortened due to a rain-out, but was made up on Sunday with seven innings. The Fish dropped that game 2-1, but regained themselves with a 4-2 victory later in the day during game two.

“They were two good baseball games,” said Goldeyes manager Rick Forney. “(Adam Champion) gave us all we could handle, but we got some solid at-bats and timely hitting. The pitching was good all day and (Chris) Salamida gave us a great start.”

The Goldeyes travel to Sioux City today as they begin a four-game series with the Explorers. Game time tonight is 7 p.m.
