The shuffle in the Winnipeg Blue Bombers front office continues as the team announced Kyle Walters as their acting general manager on Tuesday.
Walters was named the team’s assistant GM and director of Canadian Scouting earlier this year after spending three seasons as a member of the coaching staff. He has been responsible for scouting at the CIS level and also assisted the football operations department in managing the team’s salary cap, negotiating contracts and player recruitment.
“Kyle knows our football team inside and out and is the right man to serve as our acting general manager,” said newly-appointed Blue Bombers CEO Wade Miller. “I have every confidence that he will play a major role in helping us get a consistently competitive product back on the field.”
Walters takes over from Joe Mack, who was fired last week along with Garth Buchko, Blue Bombers’ president and CEO.
